Mechanism Of Action Of Gatifloxacin

• Gatifloxacin is a bactericidal antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone drug class.
• Gatifloxacin inhibits DNA replication by inhibiting bacterial DNA topoisomerase and DNA-gyrase which are necessary to separate bacterial DNA, thereby inhibiting cell division.
