• Doxazosin belongs to a group of medicines called alpha-blockers.
• Blocking alpha-1 receptors, in the lower urinary tract, leads to the relaxation of smooth muscle in both the prostate and bladder neck, resulting in the improvement in urine flow and a reduction of urinary symptoms.

• It is used for the treatment of high blood pressure or the symptoms due to prostate gland enlargement in men.
• Prostatic gland enlargement can cause problems in passing water (urine).
