Mechanism Of Action Of Carbocysteine
- Carbocysteine is a mucolytic that works by making phlegm (mucus) less sticky. This makes it easier for you to cough up.
Therapeutic Indications Of Rhinathiol Infants Syrup
- It is used for problems in the airways when there is too much mucus or when it is too sticky
Method Of Administration Of Rhinathiol Infants Syrup
- Take as indicated by your doctor.
- Carbocysteine 20 mg/mL is indicated for children aged 2 years and older.
- Children 2-5 years: the usual recommended dose is 100 mg 2-3 times daily.
- Children 6-11 years: the usual recommended dose is 100-250 mg 3 times daily.
- Children 12-15 years: 100-750 mg 3 times daily.
- Children 16 years and older: adult dosing.
- Adults: The usual recommended dose is 750 mg (15 mL) 3 times daily.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
