Mechanism Of Action Of Ambroxol
- Ambroxol is a mucolytic. It breaks down the acid mucopolysaccharide fibers which makes the sputum thinner and less viscous and therefore promotes mucus clearance.

- Ambroxol is an expectorant/mucolytic used in the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory disorders associated with abnormal mucus secretion and impaired mucus transport.
Method Of Administration Of Mucosolvan 30 Mg Tablets
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Ambroxol tablets should be taken after meals with liquid.
- The average doses:
- adults: 1 tablet 2 - 3 times per day or as directed by physician.
- Children : as directed by physician.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
