- Mebeverine belongs to a group of medicines called antispasmodics.
- The exact mechanism of action is not known, but multiple mechanisms, such as a decrease in ion channel permeability, blockade of noradrenaline reuptake, a local anesthetic effect, changes in water absorption as well as weak anti-muscarinergic

- The main symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) include:
- Stomach pain and spasm
- Persistent diarrhea, or alternating constipation and diarrhea
- Flatulence (wind) and feeling bloated
- Small, hard, pellet-like, or ribbon-like stools
Method Of Administration Of Meva 135 Mg Tablets
- Try to take the tablet 20 minutes before a meal, as some people find their symptoms to be strongest after they have eaten.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water.
- Do not chew the tablet.
- Adults (including the elderly):
- The recommended dose is one tablet three times a day. Do not take more than three tablets per day.
- The number of tablets you take may be lowered if your symptoms improve.
- Children and adolescents: Mebeverine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
