Mechanism Of Action Of Ketotifen

• Ketotifen is a mast cell stabilizer used for the management of bronchial asthma and allergic disorders such as atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis/conjunctivitis, and chronic urticaria.
• Oral ketotifen possesses both anti-mediator and mast cell-stabilizing properties.

Therapeutic Indications Of Ketonil Syrup

• It is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis.

Method Of Administration Of Ketonil Syrup

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Shake well before uses
• The average doses:

1. Adults: 5ml 2 times daily
2. Children older than 3 years: 5ml 2 times daily
3. Children between 6 months and 3 years: 2.5ml 2 times daily

• If you tend to have sedation, start with 2.5 ml 2 times daily.
• You can increase the dose up to 10 ml daily if necessary.
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
