Mechanism Of Action Of Paracetamol

  • Acts on the hypothalamus to produce an antipyretic effect, as fever develops when the hypothalamus is set to a higher-than-normal temperature.
  • May work peripherally to block pain impulse generation; may also inhibit prostaglandin synthesis in CNS

 

Therapeutic Indications Of Fevadol Tablets

  • Headache: a very common condition that most people will experience many times during their lives. The main symptom of a headache is pain in your head or face. This can be throbbing, constant, sharp, or dull.
  • Period pain
  • Backache
  • Rheumatic pain (joints pain)
  • Cold and flu
  • Sore throat
  • Mild arthritis pain (joints pain)
  • Muscle Pain
  • Toothache
  • Fever: a temporary increase in your body temperature.

 

Method Of Administration Of Fevadol Tablets

  • Adults, elderly and children aged 16 years and over:
  1. Take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain or fever (depending on your case).
  2. Make sure not to exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours.
  • Children aged 10-15 years:
  1. Take 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain or fever (depending on your case).
  2. Do not exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours.
  • Children under 10 years: Do not give Paracetamol tablets to children below 10 years of age.
  • Do not give this medication to children for more than 3 days without talking to the doctor first.
  • Take a tablet with or without food.
  • Take a tablet with a full glass of water.
  • Do not take a higher than the recommended dose and do not take the medication more frequently than every 4 hours. If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

 

Undesirable Side Effects Of Fevadol Tablets

  • Although it may be rare, some patients may experience undesirable side effects:
  1. Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with
  2. or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  3. Signs of breathing problems like difficulty breathing. These signs are more likely to happen if you have previously experienced them after taking similar painkiller medications like aspirin and ibuprofen.
  4. Sudden weight loss, nausea, yellowing of the skin and eyes, and loss of appetite.
  5. Unexplained bleeding or bruising 

 

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precaution While Taking Fevadol Tablets

  • Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Make sure to discuss the risks and benefits that the medication can impose on you and the baby when you are pregnant.
  • This medication is safe to take during breastfeeding

 

Non-Pharmacological Treatments & Advice

Warnings & Special Precautions While Taking Fevadol Tablets

  • Do not take Paracetamol:
  1. If you are allergic to Paracetamol, or any of the ingredients in this medicine.
  2. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.
  3. If you are taking other Paracetamol-containing products. Make sure not to exceed the dose
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, skin rash, swelling of the face or neck, decreased blood pressure and dizziness.
  • Make sure to tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, including alcoholic liver disease or if you have mild arthritis (joints inflammation) and need to take painkillers daily.
  • Long-term use of this medication may be harmful to your liver.
  • Contact your doctor if symptoms are not relieved.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications like:
  1. If you are taking metoclopramide or domperidone (used for vomiting or nausea).
  2. If you are taking cholestyramine (used to lower blood cholesterol).
  3. If you are taking blood-thinning medications (e.g. warfarin) and you need to take a painkiller every day.
  4. Concomitant chronic use of painkillers and blood-thinning medications may increase the risk of bleeding.
  5. If you are taking other Paracetamol-containing medications.

 

Storage Conditions Of Fevadol Tablets

  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

  • The average normal oral temperature is 98.6°F (37°C).
  • A rectal temperature is 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) higher than an oral temperature.
  •  An ear (tympanic) temperature is 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) higher than an oral temperature.
