Mechanism Of Action Of Charcoal
- Activated charcoal adsorbs ingested toxins within the gastrointestinal tract preventing the systemic absorption of that toxin.
- An anti-flatulent that changes surface tension of gas bubbles, allowing easier elimination of gas.
Therapeutic Indications Of Eucarbon Tablets
- This medication is indicated for the relief of painful symptoms such as the sensation of pressure, fullness in the epigastrium, and intestinal spasm – due to excessive accumulation of gases that may be formed in the digestive tract in the following cases:
- Air swallowing (aerophagia)
- Functional dyspepsia
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Peptic ulcer
- Postoperative gaseous distension
- Infant colic.
Method Of Administration Of Eucarbon Tablets
- Take 1-4 capsules at a time; 12 capsules are the maximum dose per day.
- Take the capsules with water.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
