Mechanism Of Action Of Benzocaine

• Benzocaine is a topical local anesthetic used for the temporary relief of pain.
• Benzocaine binds to the sodium channel and reversibly decreases sodium entry.

Therapeutic Indications Of Earcalm Ear Drops

• This ear drop is indicated for:

1. Acute otitis media of various etiologies
2. Prompt relief of pain and reduction of inflammation
3. Adjuvant therapy during systemic antibiotic administration for resolution of the infection

Method Of Administration Of Earcalm Ear Drops

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• This product is for external use only
• This medicine is intended for adults, adolescents, and children aged 3 years and older.
• The usual dosing is 4 drops into affected ear(s) 4 times daily.
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

Storage Conditions Of Earcalm Ear Drops

• Don’t refrigerate the unopened container
• Not to be used for more than 28 days after opening the container, unless otherwise is advised by your pharmacist.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
